Shinbangumi is one of those albums that you just can just play over and over and over and over again. At least, that's how it was for me.
It's genuinely such a whimsical, light hearted and fun album. The movie that acompanies it, Shinbangumi - A Music Movie, is such a gorgeously filmed piece. It perfectly encapsulates the album and the producer, Cameron Lew, as a creative.
I bought this CD and the Vinyl at Waterloo Records after watching the movie, and every time I drove anywhere, I was listening to it. If I had listened to this album on spotify, it probably would have been all that was in my 2025 top listened. Except I didn't listen to it on spotify, because spotify is caca doodoo garbo.
I currently have the Vinyl framed on my wall, because I love this album so fucking much.

A very sweet, cozy album that's perfect to listen to on a sunny day. My girlfriend bought me this album at Waterloo Records as a christmas gift, and I really like it.
I also bought some stickers of the album cover since I absolutely adore it, and the creator sent them herself personally, along with a very sweet note! :3

12 - Exotique Bossa Nova
One of the oldest CDs in my collection since moving in with my girlfriend. It's been well loved, and has been used many a time as background music for early morning apartment cleaning.
I've always loved bossa nova and brazillian/latin music like this, so it's no wonder this CD is so well loved!! :p I also have two other CDs from this collection: Monado Exotica and Cocktail Capers. I'm really invested in trying to find more in the Ultra-Lounge series.

A very awesome Half Priced Books find; this album is a really awesome mix of whimsical fantasy music combined with some almost beach-y guitars and drums intertwined with otherwise classical instruments, like harps and pianos.
I'm really happy I got it, since it seems like John Zorn has taken most of his music offline, aside from Youtube re-uploads. The album art and CDs are absolutely stunning and match the mood of the tracks as well.

I saw this band live when they opened for Anamanaguchi when they came to play for the second time in my hometown, after their Scott Pilgrim anniversary tour.
BYOP was an explosive and kinky experience that knocked my pussy clean off. I got the album SIGNED by miss Jemina Pearl while visiting her at the merch table, so basically, I'm better than all of you (jk)

I saw this CD sealed at SanJapan in 2025, and of course, I had to cop it. Tommy is just too good to pass up, especially with this album cover being so perfectly airport themed. I couldn't resist!
I'm a bit sad it only has two tracks on it, but it's totally fine, I think. Both songs are awesome enough to justify it, and the CD and cover are just too stunning!

A CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!! An absolutely IMPORTANT eurobeat megamix, featuring all the hits, including my ultimate favorite: WWW.Blonde Girl, which is a track I could only ever find on some obscure youtube re-upload. If you like eurobeat and eurodance, absolutely give it a listen.

A really awesome, fast and trancey trip into otaku moe culture. Not too much to say about this CD except that it's really good driving music, and the booklet, CD art, and cover art are super duper cute.
