DIGITAL WATCH HEAVEN

MY WATCH HOLY GRAILS

This page is all about my DREAMMM WATCHES... Watches that I've always wanted, but can't/don't have. Mostly because I'm broke. A lot of these watches are highly sought after now that they're no longer being produced.

A Casio Telememo "Micro Cosmos"

with a brand new shell

Casio Telememo 50 "Micro Cosmos" edition

Company: Casio

Model: DBC-63

Year: 1985

Resale Price (USA): $200-$300+

This elusive, gorgeous green apple of my eye was made when Casio partnered with different wildlife foundations, including the Archaeological Institute of America and The Dinosaur Society, to make the most awesome fucking watches you've ever seen.

This particular model was one of a few that featured different nature themes such as:

  • Ornithology/Birds (CASIO DBC-63 Cognit Schema)
  • Dinosaurs (CASIO DBC-63 Dino Zone)
  • Microbiology (CASIO DBC-63 Micro Cosmos)
  • I haven't been able to find more in the series other than these three, but they're all equally as cool.

It has a gorgeous jelly casing, and a strap that features their themes/the foundations Casio partnered with to make these watches. This one is my favorite because of the color, and because the entire watch has a Microorganism theme. Which is awesome.

My FAVORITE part of these watches, though, is the fact that all of the backlights featured different designs! They all had different ones, but my favorite that I've found is this one, which featured a microorganism on it.

If you know what kind of micro organism this is, please tell me!!!

    A Seiko h-Timetron

    Seiko H-Timetron

    Company: Seiko

    Model: W853-4000

    Year: 1998-2000

Resale Price (USA): Five Hundred Million Billion Dollars

In America, this thing is the Lochness Monster of watches. I can barely find any functional model on Ebay or Buyee, so I've kind of given up on finding one of these fine ladies.

The watch was designed with a theme of nostalgia and retro-futurism in mind, with the dot matrix display remniscent of an old PC screen. It definitely worked. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Gundam characer sporting one of these guys.

"...the team hit upon the concept of a design that has both technology and cuteness, like an instant camera" says Seiko's website.

    A Keypad Watch

    from the CLICK store page.

    CLICK Keypad Watch

    Company: CLICK

    Model: KP-BKWH

    Year: Current

    Resale Price (USA): ~$150

THIS is a watch that may be written in my future. It's more affordable than any of the watches on this list, and I can actually buy it from the official website. It's not vintage, so I can also buy it brand spanking new with no buffs or scratches.

But I'm broke. So yeah. But it's fun and exciting to think about.

Now, you may be asking yourself: "How the fuck does this thing even tell the time? It's a numpad on your wrist." And I will TELL YOU dear reader....

The answer is in the keys!! You can press all of the keys like a real keyboard!

    From the official manual

The lights on the keypad will light up to tell the time when you press a numerical button, and if you press the numpad button, it shows you the date. It's so chic, so cool, so unique!!! And it probably looks so retro and cool on the wrist!
